INTERVIEW WITH HEIRLOOM BOUQUET

How did you get started doing what you do?

I am also a wedding photographer and I kept hearing over and over from my couples that they were so sad to just throw their wedding bouquet in the trash. So I did a lot of research to see what types of bouquet preservation companies there were out there. And a lot of what I was finding was really old- definitely not something that my bride would want in her home. I then decided to solve the problem and create this timeless art piece for my clients and other brides who want preserve a moment of their wedding day for forever.

Who or what continues to inspire you?

I love that each bouquet is so different! I honestly never get a bouquet that looks exactly the same and I love that. It shows how truly unique someones wedding bouquet is from anyone else.

What do you enjoy doing on your day off?

Actually, another reason why I created Heirloom Bouquet was because of my love for flowers. So on my days off...or more like moments off...you will find me gardening, walking around my property to check on the different flowers that I've planted (yes, I'm a crazy plant lady), and stopping into the local greenhouse.

Wedding trend that you're loving right now?

Pastels! In every sense but especially in florals!

What do you see as the added value to hiring a wedding planner or coordinator?

Oh man! So so so much value. In my wedding photography business I rarely shoot a wedding anymore that doesn't have a planner. But occasionally there is one. And I will tell you, without fail, every single bride regrets it at the end of the day. Every. Single. One. There are so many logistics that if you've never planned and executed a wedding you have no idea about and so instead of getting to enjoy your wedding day you're having to stress about all these small details.
