A Romantic Oceanfront Cliff House Wedding
Lauren and Michael’s intimate Cliff House wedding was one for the ages. The cliffside oceanfront was the perfect backdrop for a romantic wedding in Maine’s cool September days. Jardiniere Flowers added the perfect touch, The Libby’s Photo & Film and Yours Truly Media captured every unforgettable moment of this amazing celebration of love.

How did you and your partner meet?
We met on Match.com (lol!). We were both stationed at Camp Lejeune in North Carolina at the time (I was in the Navy Dental Corp. and Michael was an Infantry Officer in the Marines), which if you know the area, you know it isn't the best place to find love. I was living outside of the base in a small military town where you didn't go to bars (or really anywhere) to meet your future husband. So, after about three months of starting my new life in North Carolina, my friends (after several glasses of wine) made me a Match.com profile.
It started out as an exciting adventure, meeting new people, having lots of free meals. :) But it quickly turned into one dead end after the next. I was about one week shy of my membership ending and throwing in the towel when I found Michael. We hit it off right away on our first date at a local coffee shop (I learned coffee shops were a safe bet because it was an easy exit if the date turned sour). But we ended up staying for hours and he ended the date by telling me he wanted to see me again BUT he was leaving in two weeks for a three-month exercise in 29 Palms, California (it was Marine Corps training and he would have limited access to his phone). I immediately thought there was no way this would work... but then we went on our second date, and third and fourth, and well, here we are today.
We obviously kept in touch over the course of the months he was away and picked up right where we left off when he returned.
What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?
My favorite memory from the day was seeing Michael at our first look, which is probably what a lot of brides say. BUT if you know Michael, you know he is far from an emotional person. I have only seen the man cry once before this and I kind of contributed the trials of 2020 to this. So to see him look at me the way he did with so much love in his eyes and get choked up, made my heart melt. Also, telling our band, Hot Mess, on the spot that we wanted them to do the hora for us. Jason, who has Jewish roots, got the band together and performed this live (they hadn't in probably 6 years lol) and it was PERFECT. And when we got hoisted up in chairs, somehow I managed to have five big dudes carry me while only three guys had Michael (Amanda captured the moment perfectly and it's pretty funny).
Favorite part about having a coordinator from PMP :) ?
Lena was AMAZING. I really can't say enough good things about her and your team. I know having a day of planner was a good idea to have for your wedding, but it was an outright necessity once COVID hit. I think I may have lost it several times if it weren't for Lena keeping me on track those two months out. Her positive energy was everything I needed in such a chaotic, unpredictable time.
