Colleen is based out of Portland, ME but travels all over New England!

How did you get started doing what you do?

I have always loved doing hair. I was always the girl doing everyone else’s hair. I actually went to college for History and Education as well as Classical Studies but ended up right where I always wanted to be. I sorta fell into weddings as I had a natural talent for updos and special occasion styling. At the salon I apprenticed at nobody really “liked” doing wedding hair - so they were passed to me. I remember doing my first wedding and thinking, “THIS IS IT!” It was love at first curl!

Who or what continues to inspire you?

I am always inspired by art. I’m currently re-obsessing over Italian Renaissance Art - Botticelli in particular. Within the wedding beauty industry, I follow so many absolute hair queens on Instagram - and we are all such a supportive and cheerleading bunch.

What do you enjoy doing on your day off?

When I have, I will go for long walks with my cutie Westie, Cregan, and also binge watch Netflix on my couch. I am also an equestrian and find lots of solace amongst horses! I also love creating art.

Wedding trend that you're loving right now?

I will forever be a lover of natural updos. I love lived-in textures. I am so happy this trend is around and is holding fast! Also, floral tiaras! YES, PLEASE!
