Intimate Barn Wedding in Southern Maine’s Cunningham Farm

With warm weather and light breezes, August is the perfect month for a summer wedding in Maine. Leah and Connor’s August wedding was intimate and emotional. The beers and tears were flowing during this celebration at Cunningham Farm, where guests were treated to a beautiful summer outdoor ceremony followed by a farmhouse celebration.

The ceremony was filled with heartfelt personal vows and the grooms sister speaking about their relationship. Connor was given his grandfathers old bandanna as a handkerchief knowing he would be balling…maybe jokes were made about his “sensitive tear ducts.”

Leah spoke about the “light” Connor brings to her and everyone present lives. His humor and dance moves were the stars of the show. A small wedding and two-person bridal party made it feel like each person was hand picked to be there. The love and gratitude filled the room.

An epic Reception

The delicious eats from So We Flew pleased everyone. Griffin & Griffin created a canopy of lights that covered the whole barn and a curtain of string lights behind the band. The result felt magical once the sun set and was the perfect background for the epic dance party that ensued. Beautiful lighting coupled with decor from One Stop Events, the venue became an intimate setting for everyone to enjoy a night of celebration.

Meet the couple: Leah and Connor

How did you and your husband meet?

In college at GW (George Washington University). I was his sisters freshman year roommate (lol).

What is your favorite memory from your wedding day?

Sitting back and taking in the fact that all of our favorite humans were in one room together and how special that moment truly was.

Favorite part about having a coordinator :) ?

Not having to worry about a single thing the day of our wedding. I don't think I have ever been more relaxed in my life. We just knew that Amanda would handle any issues that came up and really cared about making this day as special as we did.
